creating music opportunities for disabled people through technology
From hip hop to classical, jazz to rock and roll, the Drake Music Project is a national charity that is committed to providing the opportunity for disabled people to explore, compose and perform their own music.
"Busking for Charity"
on September 4th 2004 at Trekkers in Simpson, Milton Keynes. Music started at 12:00 and featured: The Unlikely Brothers, Southside Jimmy, Graham Robins, Dan Plews, Meltbak,Charlie Barnard , Bronson, Alex Ostrowoski and Fozz.A big thank you goes out to all the bands who generously gave up their time on the day, to the firends and family who helped with the running of the event and to Sharon and Keith at Trekkers for letting us use the pub. We eventually raised £220 which goes to the Drake music project
The Unlikely Brothers
The Unlikely Brothers comprise of Andy Powell and Richard Gleave who play and sing a wide repertoire of songs from the hillbilly, Duelling Banjo's through to Country, folk and rock and roll songs. I defy you to see them and leave without a smile on your face.
Our mates Andy and Richard opened the day's music for us at midday before rushing off for other engagements that day.
Southside Jimmy
The southside boys gave us an energetic set in the early afternoon doing their bit to fill the bucket !
Graham Robins
Graham treated us to his eclectic mix of original material and covers
Dan Plews
The wonderful Dan Plews after a hard morning in the great outdoors dashed over to play for us.
Meltbak
exciting MK based funk and soul band writing and recording their own original songs. How they managed to fit on the stage is one of life's great mysteries !
"Charlie" Barnard
Charlie from The Dead Girls gave us an accoustic set. Nice shirt !
BRONSON
Bronson took us into the early evening
Alex Ostrowoski
